Rainbow Class

The Rainbow Class is three days a week for kids who turn 4 by July 31. Their room is still play-based, but includes phonics skills through letter of the week and Handwriting Without Tears. Children participate in circle time, art, music, and gross motor play.

Discovery Class

This is an option for a fourth day to those in the Rainbow Class. The Discovery Room is a hands-on class with cooking, science, and other STEM activities that follow the Rainbow Class's letters and themes. If your child stays for Lunch Bunch on Discovery Day, they participate in a Book Club instead of a regular Lunch Bunch.

Curriculum

Art, music, language, literacy, STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) and developing a positive self-concept and attitude towards school are a vital part of the day.

Opportunities to experiment with a wide range of art media and fine motor activities, math and counting manipulatives, language, literacy activities as well as activities involving the natural world are provided.  We follow the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum.

STEM teachers present weekly small group STEM activities.

Play is an important component in our program because it enhances social skills and emotional development.

Lunch Bunch Program

Lunch Bunch is an optional extended day program offered Monday through Friday from 11:45-2:45. Children bring a lunch from home and enjoy an afternoon of special activities with school friends.

Book Club Lunch bunch is offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:45-2:45 for children in the Discovery Class. Learning time activities will center on a quality children’s book. Books will be explored through group discussions, charting, dramatic play, story writing, illustration and art.
